The first flavor created for an athlete, Maple Blondie is a rich and creamy maple ice cream with blonde brownie pieces and a smooth maple caramel swirl that will be arriving in Scoop Shops nationwide later this month. Channeling the company\u2019s commitment to social mission, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Hannah\u2019s Gold<\/a><\/strong>, Teter\u2019s own charity that funds various projects in Africa.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nVermont native is first athlete to be honored with a flavor<\/p>\n

Burlington, Vermont (November 20th, 2009) – This winter, Ben & Jerry\u2019s takes to the mountain to honor fellow Vermont native and gold-medalist snowboarder, Hannah Teter with its newest flavor, Maple Blondie. The first flavor created for an athlete, Maple Blondie is a rich and creamy maple ice cream with blonde brownie pieces and a smooth maple caramel swirl that will be arriving in Scoop Shops nationwide later this month. Channeling the company\u2019s commitment to social mission, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Hannah\u2019s Gold, Teter\u2019s own charity that funds various projects in Africa.<\/p>\n

Hannah grew up snowboarding in Vermont and has achieved many accomplishments including winning three times at the 2005 X Games, receiving the gold medal in 2006 for the women\u2019s halfpipe in Torino, Italy along with being nominated for three ESPY awards. Committed to being a positive influence on the world, she started Hannah\u2019s Gold, a Vermont maple syrup company that donates 100% of its profits to funding infrastructure and humanitarian needs in the African village of Kirindon.<\/p>\n

But why should only Hannah get to enjoy all the fun? For the first time in Ben & Jerry\u2019s history, Maple Blondie was announced through Twitter and Facebook before a media announcement by offering clues to followers of the celebrity behind this special limited batch.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the flavor, Ben & Jerry\u2019s are hosting the ultimate \u201cVermont Snowboard Getaway\u201d sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will win a four day, three night trip for two to Vermont to attend the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships and head-to-toe Burton snowboarding gear, as well as lift tickets and snowboarding lessons on Stratton Mountain. Ten first-prize winners will each receive a Burton Flight Deck travel bag, sleeper hoodie and tour kit.
