\"Sia<\/a>A press release sent out yesterday titled 86 Companies Will Make Their Debut At The Snow Show<\/em><\/strong> by SIA talks about how many new companies are involved in the Denver show and SIA President David Ingemie<\/strong> is ecstatic.<\/p>\n

“New companies take risks and provide the retailers with fresh ideas and excitement \u2013 they shake it up and keep things interesting year after year,” said David Ingemie, president of SIA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So who are the “new” companies that SIA is so excited about? Some of those listed as “new companies<\/a><\/strong>” include Ski<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>and Skiing Magazine<\/em><\/strong> (aka Bonnier Mountain Group)<\/strong>, Briko North America<\/strong>, Kastle<\/strong>, Kneissl<\/strong>, Swivler<\/strong>, and Vans<\/strong>. All of whom have attended the show numerous times before. Debut?<\/p>\n

We emailed Anovia Daniels<\/strong>, Communications and Public Relations Manager for SIA, so we could better understand the press release and she explained: “Many of them are brand new and some are companies that have revamped themselves and come back to the Show. None of the exhibitors were at the Show last year.”<\/p>\n

Right. So there aren’t actually “86 new companies” making their debut at the show and the headline is for all practical purposes an complete lie, which may explain the “others are circling back” subhead. Damn those marketing people.

McLean, VA ( November 18, 2009 ) \u2013 One of the greatest moments for any trade show attendee is unearthing that new product or new-to-the-industry company. Savvy retailers also know it\u2019s important to keep their shop fresh with new products and interesting brands to keep customers coming back through their doors. Luckily at SnowSports Industrie America\u2019s first-ever Snow Show at the Colorado Convention Center (Jan 28-31) in Denver there will be plenty of fresh faces and new stories down every aisle.<\/p>\n

“For MANIC Snow there was never a second thought about exhibiting at SIA. We had been attending the Show for years. So, when we got our binding the way we wanted it, we knew that the SIA Snow Show was the only place for us to introduce our company to the industry,” commented Brett Curtis of Manic Snow.<\/p>\n
