Adidas Skateboarding has kicked down a sample of ‘Away Days’ – the brand’s first full-length feature film. The film profiles the entire global roster of team of riders skateboarding in their most natural state over the course of three years and 22 cities around the globe.
The video features behind-the-scenes commentary from adidas riders Lucas Puig, Mark ‘Gonz’ Gonzales, Rodrigo TX, Nestor Judkins, Na-kel Smith, Tyshawn Jones, Jake Donnelly and Miles Silvas.
In tandem with this year’s Skate Copa, adidas introduces #BoostTheBar —a best trick contest held on a custom built bump-to-bar obstacle that’s open to everyone to skate. With cash prizes and Boost prize packs up for grabs, Boost The Bar is going down at every #adidasSkateCopa stop in North America with the first stop happening this Saturday at Noon at the Westchester Skate Plaza in LA.
We’ve seen what adidas Skateboarding has done with the company’s tennis heritage, now they going the soccer route with the Futebol Pack of “skate-specific” shoes inspired by “legendary adidas football boots.”
As a brand steeped in football heritage, we’re celebrating this mile-marker from the pitch to the street.

Yes, the shoe giants will try nearly anything to get you to buy a pair of their sporting footwear posing as skate shoes. adidas is even willing to rewrite the history of one of tennis’ greatest living legends and present Stan Smith (yes, that one) as a long closeted skateboarder. Watch, laugh, cry, and then go buy the same pair of shoes that you always buy. And if they’re adidas, score one for the snarky adidas marketing team!

Dennis Busenitz certainly does catch those flips nicely. In fact, there’s not much Busenitz does on a skateboard that doesn’t look good and fast. Here’s a little more proof.
On Friday night, May 3, 2013 the LA skate art crew gathered at HVW8 to help Mark Gonzales celebrate 15 year with Adidas.
Adidas skateboarding brought together six prominent photographers to tell Mark’s story over the past 15 years through their lenses. These photographers, who have watched Mark and witnessed his skateboarding antics all around the world include Gabe Morford, Joe Brook, Skin Phillips, Brian Gaberman, Benjamin Deberdt, and Sem Rubio. . . Guests made their way through the renowned photography and ‘Gonz’ artwork to the outside celebrations where refreshments flowed, Mark’s old video clips were projected and everyone shared their own unique Gonz stories amongst each other and of course with the man of honor himself.
What better way to ring in the holiday season than with The Gonz decorated Christmas tree and Snoop there to wreck the place with his cane. #bahhumbizzle
