RIP: Dylan Rieder

by The Editors on October 12, 2016

We’re still trying to process the information. Dylan Rieder died today (October 12, 2016) after a battle with leukemia. According to reports he was with his family at the end. Dylan was an individual in a sea of conformity. He lived his way, skated his way, and the cameras loved him for it. Dylan will be remembered forever as one of the most inherently stylish skateboarders ever. He was 28. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire skateboarding community.

As we said on August 24, 2010 when Gravis released Dylan on their website: “Dylan Rieder fans should check it out for their own seven minutes of heaven.” It’s every bit as good today as it was six years ago.

Dylan Rieder On The Hunt NYC

by The Editors on June 15, 2012

Dylan Rieder joined a partnership with Jake Lamagno and Steven Ditchkus on a new hipster antique/furniture/art store on New York City’s Lower East Side. It’s called The Hunt. No, it’s not a skateboard shop, and yes, it is a conceptual retail piece.

Dylan Rieder On Energy Drink Sponsorship

by The Editors on April 19, 2012

6Dc9Ce8Af8233579B7732Ca42D2A26Db“Fuck. You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to wear one of those logos on my forehead. Their shit is fucked. It’s cool for those guys; they make a lot of money. I despise logos and I think it’s contractual if you sign up for one of those things that every time you’re on your board you have to have one of their logos near or on your body; it’s kind of retarded. They make little stickers that look like your shirt tags and you’re supposed to put them on you. It’s retarded. I don’t understand the Nascar outfit. The whole race car uniform shit just blows my mind. But all those dudes are rich now so kudos to them.”

Dylan Rieder: The Hobo Wino

by The Editors on September 23, 2011

Nothing says skateboarding like a nice, smooth glass of Kenny Likitprakong’s Hobo Wine. Will be interesting to see what Dylan Rieder and Thunder Trucks adds to the mix. Let’s just hope it’s not a cab.

Epicly Dylan Rieder Part 3

by The Editors on September 30, 2010

After reading Chris Nieratko’s typically chatty interview with Dylan Rieder in the November issue of Skateboarder Magazine it’s nice to see Rieder in a little more depth with a four-part Epicly Later’d from Patrick O’Dell. This is part three and it’s all about fashion, look, and those shoes (which, for the record, we were wrong about).
