Mike Vallely Gets Afflicted

by The Editors on May 20, 2009

Affliction LogoNo, we’re not really surprised that Mike Vallely has teamed up with MMA clothing company Affliction. But then after his LA Ducks deal from last October there’s really nothing that would surprise us.

“Affliction Clothing mirrors my aggressive style and attitude,” said Vallely. “I’ve never felt comfortable in surf apparel — that look was never really me. Affliction is a clothing brand that expresses what I’m all about and in turn allows me to express myself.” Marketing Director Chris Lisk commented, “Affliction is excited about working with Mike V. He has always held strong as an individual and we acknowledge and promote that quality in all of our athletes and artists.”

Sounds like a fighting good deal for Mike. Follow the jump for all the details.

Affliction Clothing Collaboration With Mike Vallely

SEAL BEACH, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ — Affliction Clothing, the premier label that embodies our generation’s fast and loud attitude and lifestyle through contemporary fashion, has announced a collaboration effort with Mike Vallely, world-class skateboarder and singer of the Rock n’ Roll band Revolution Mother. Vallely, aka Mike V, will be collaborating on a line of Mike Vallely apparel, and a signature Affliction, Revolution Mother tee shirt.

Long Beach based Mike Vallely, who divides his time between skateboarding and singing began his ride into the public eye as a pro skateboarder in 1987. Known for his speed, power and style, he has been featured in television shows, films and documentaries. Vallely’s band, Revolution Mother, was on Warped Tour in 2007 and 2008 and is signed to Ferret Records. Their new album Rollin’ With Tha Mutha is due out in July. The album was produced by Fred Archambault (Avenged Sevenfold, Valiant Thorr) and is the follow up to Glory Bound.

“Affliction Clothing mirrors my aggressive style and attitude,” said Vallely. “I’ve never felt comfortable in surf apparel — that look was never really me. This is the cheesiest clothing line ever. I love seeing the meat heads running around in their identical tough guy shirts. I guess their image is supposed to say “individual, aggressive and cool”…what it really says is “follower, cheeseball and meathead.”

Right on Mike V…you finally fell in exactly where you belong!
