Spy jumps face first into the retro pool with a new series of glasses called The Whitewalls.

“The Whitewall Series is inspired by the timelessness of the ‘40s ‘50s and ‘60s,” says Brent Sandor, SPY brand manager. “Hot rods and whitewall tires, cruising with the top down on a Sunday. We’ve taken the elements that embody the classic greaser look to create pieces that are easily wearable, yet thoughtfully inspired by some of the most iconic moments in fashion history.”

SPY HAPPILY REINVENTS MONOCHROME WITH ITS WHITEWALL SERIES

For Immediate Release: November 7, 2012

CARLSBAD, Calif.—Paying homage to an era of teenage rebellion and classic rock ‘n’ roll, SPY has released the Whitewall Series—a line of black and white modern frames with subtle hints of vintage flair.

Reminiscent of the days when logos and advertisements were artfully crafted, the collection features a specially designed emblem stamped onto the lens, distinct custom packaging, and contrast logo detailing that accentuates the frame.

Offered in seven of SPY’s most recognizable styles in addition to two new styles—the Discord and Stag—the Whitewall Series lands on retail shelves in November, and includes the Helm, Bowery, Blok, Flynn, Touring and Discord. Dropping in spring but never late to the party, the all-new Stag hits stores on April 1, 2013.

MSRP for the Whitewall Series ranges from $120 to $150, and is available with a variety of lenses including grey with navy spectra, grey with black mirror, grey with blue spectra, grey with light blue spectra and grey with green spectra. All styles feature PC (polycarbonate) lenses, offer 100% UV protection and are custom built from high quality Propionate (Discord, Stag, Blok, Touring), Acetate (Bowery) and Grilamid™ (Helm and Flynn).
