US Skiing’s Bill Marolt Arrested For DUI

by The Editors on March 26, 2010

Amd has pointed out that US Skiing President and CEO Bill Marolt, one of the people responsible for sending Scotty Lago home early from the Vancouver Olympics after Lago appeared in a lewd photo, was arrested “on suspicion of DUI” on St. Patrick’s Day in Park City, Utah according to an Associated Press story quoted by

Local police arrested Marolt on the evening of March 17, just days after the team he leads completed one of the most glorious seasons in its history, with Olympic downhill champion Lindsey Vonn collecting her third consecutive overall World Cup title.

Marolt issued an apology saying “I apologize for any disruption this may cause to the organization for which I’m so passionate.” Then he sent himself home. At least now Bill knows how quickly a great evening out can go bad.
