Ryan Sheckler’s former CFO Matthew Mercuro, 36, of San Clemente, California was arrested on Friday, November 13, 2009 and charged with embezzling more than $365,000 from the kid, according to a story in the Orange County Register.

Mercuro is charged with two felony counts of grand theft with sentencing enhancements if convicted for excessive taking over $200,000 and $65,000, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.. . Mercuro worked for companies owned by professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler and transferred the funds from the companies to personal accounts of his wife and a friend, prosecutors said.

Mercuro could face up to six years in prison if he is convicted. Money does the craziest things to people.
