In February 2007 surfer Sydney pro surfer Sam Page was celebrating his 21st birthday when he was allegedly beaten into a coma by a bouncer at the Player Showgirls strip club. That bouncer is now on trial, according to a story on News.com.au.
Players Showgirls bouncer Eugene White is facing trial in Southport District Court charged with causing Sam Page grievous bodily harm in February 2007. . . One witness, a Victorian tourist, would tell how he saw Page “flying through the air” and landing on concrete at the bottom of the stairs after a security guard punched him in the head.
After a stint in intensive care it was nearly a year before he got back into a surf competition. The trial continues.
